Okay, so I got this idea stuck in my head the other week about a specific Caroline Wozniacki dress. You know how sometimes you see something and just think, “I need that”? Well, it was kinda like that.

It wasn’t just any dress, it was one of those Adidas ones she wore, designed by Stella McCartney. I think it was from one of the Slams, maybe the Aussie Open or the US Open a few years back? Can’t remember exactly which one now, but it had this really cool look. Athletic, obviously, but also super stylish. I remember seeing pictures and thinking how sharp it looked on court.
Getting Started: The Hunt
So, first thing I did was jump online. Fired up the computer and just started searching. My search history probably looked crazy for a while:
- caroline wozniacki adidas dress
- wozniacki stella mccartney tennis outfit
- blue tennis dress wozniacki
- wozniacki grand slam dress [whatever year I thought it was]
Loads of photos came up, which was great for confirming the exact one I was thinking of. Yeah, it was definitely one of the Stella McCartney ones. Really distinctive cut and fabric.
Hitting a Wall
Finding pictures was easy. Finding the actual dress to maybe, you know, buy? That was the hard part. I checked the Adidas website first, obviously. Nothing there, figured it was probably too old. Then I went through all the big online tennis stores – Tennis Warehouse, Tennis Express, places like that. Scrolled through pages and pages of tennis dresses. Lots of nice stuff, but not that specific Wozniacki dress.
I figured, okay, maybe second-hand? So I tried eBay, Poshmark, Depop. Found a couple that looked similar, but either they were the wrong size, looked a bit worn out, or people were asking frankly ridiculous prices for them. Like, collector item prices for a used tennis dress. No thanks.
Changing Tactics
Alright, seemed like getting the exact dress wasn’t happening unless I got really lucky or wanted to spend a fortune. So, I changed my approach. What was it I actually liked so much about it?
- The style: It was sporty but still really fashionable. Not just a basic tank dress.
- The fit: Looked really well-made, flattering cut.
- The details: Sometimes they had cool mesh panels, or little ruffles, or interesting seams.
So instead of searching for the exact dress, I started looking for dresses with those features. I looked at current Adidas lines (even non-Stella stuff), Nike, Fila, some other tennis brands too. Just browsing, looking for something with a similar vibe.
The Result (Sort Of)
Did I find an exact match? Nope. But I did find a couple of really nice performance dresses that had some of the elements I liked. I ended up getting one from a different brand that had a similar colour and a nice cut. It wasn’t the Wozniacki dress, but it felt like a decent compromise.

It was kind of an interesting little project, really. Made me realize how fast that high-end athlete gear comes and goes. What they wear one season is often impossible to find the next. You see it, you love it, and poof, it’s gone unless you grabbed it right away. So yeah, didn’t get the exact dress, but learned a bit about chasing down specific sports fashion!
