Okay, here’s my Genji crosshair adventure – buckle up, it’s a wild ride!

Want a good Genji crosshair? Try these simple settings.

Alright, so I decided, like, yesterday that my Genji needed a serious aim-overhaul. You know how it is, you’re missing shurikens left and right, blaming the ping, the monitor, the cat… but deep down, you know it’s the crosshair.

First things first, I jumped into the practice range. Had to get a baseline, right? Started with the default crosshair – a classic, but felt kinda… vague. Like trying to thread a needle with a garden hose. I was spraying shurikens everywhere, missing headshots like it was my job. I recorded a short clip of my gameplay with the default crosshair, nothing special, just my attempts to hit some moving bots.

Then, I hit the settings menu. Oh boy, here we go. I fiddled with everything. Dot size, crosshair length, thickness, opacity, color… I was like a mad scientist in a lab, only instead of beakers and test tubes, I had sliders and color palettes. I tried a small dot, thinking maybe precision was the key. Nope. Couldn’t see it in the heat of battle. It was like a ninja disappearing in plain sight, except it was my crosshair.

  • Next, I went for the opposite: a HUGE cross. Obnoxious, right? Yeah, it was. Covered half the screen. Good for tracking, maybe? Absolutely terrible for actually aiming. felt like driving a tank in a go-kart race.
  • Then, I messed around with colors. Bright green? Too distracting. Hot pink? Gave me a headache. Ended up settling on a light blue, seemed to blend into most environments without being invisible.

Okay, time for shapes. Circle? Nah, too much like the default. Cross with a gap in the middle? Getting warmer. I spent a good hour just tweaking the gap size, trying to find that sweet spot where it felt intuitive.

After that I tried making the crosshair really thin and small with a very small gap in the middle, this felt a bit more precise. I tried that out on some bots and I was hitting a few more headshots. It was still not where I wanted to be but it felt like I was getting closer.

The “aha!” moment came when I started thinking about Genji’s shuriken spread. They fan out, right? So, I needed a crosshair that reflected that. I ended up with a small cross, not too thick, with a slightly larger gap than before. The key? I turned on “Show Accuracy.”

Here’s why “Show Accuracy” is the MVP. It makes the crosshair expand when you’re firing rapidly, showing you exactly how much your shurikens are spreading. This was a game-changer. Now I could actually see how my aim was affected by my firing rate.

With the “Show Accuracy” turned on and my slightly-larger-gap crosshair, I started practicing my shuriken bursts. I focused on keeping the crosshair expansion as tight as possible. Short, controlled bursts, not just holding down the mouse button like a maniac.

The final result? A light blue crosshair, medium thickness, slightly larger gap, with “Show Accuracy” turned ON. It’s not perfect, and I’m still tweaking it, but it’s a HUGE improvement over where I started.

So, the takeaway? Don’t be afraid to experiment. Crank those settings, try weird stuff, and most importantly, pay attention to what feels right. And seriously, give “Show Accuracy” a shot. It might just be the secret sauce you’ve been missing.

I spent another hour or so just practicing in the practice range and I felt way more comfortable with this new crosshair. I even started recording myself so I can watch the footage later to see where I can still improve.

This definitely helped me out and hope this helps someone else trying to find their best Genji Crosshair.
