Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this crossword thing, specifically about golf tournaments. It’s way more interesting than I thought it would be. I started out just trying to solve a few clues here and there. I mean, I’ve got a general idea about golf, you know, the big names and all, but I wasn’t really into the details of every tournament.
So, I started poking around online, looking for answers to these clues. At first, I was just trying to find the quick solutions. I stumbled upon this crossword solver website. I typed in “some golf tournaments” and boom, it gave me like 30 possible answers. That’s a lot, right? I thought there would only be a handful of these things.
Then I started digging deeper. I found another site that listed even more, like 40 solutions for the same clue. It’s crazy! I started to realize that these crossword puzzles are pretty serious. I mean, there are a bunch of different ones, like the Chicago Sun-Times crossword, Universal Crossword, and who knows how many more.
- Started with a simple search: Initially, I just wanted the answers. I used a crossword solver site and found 30 solutions.
- Dug deeper: Found another site with 40 solutions. Realized the complexity of these puzzles.
- Explored different crosswords: Discovered various publications have their own, like the Chicago Sun-Times and Universal Crossword.
I decided to make it a bit of a project. I started keeping track of the clues and the answers I found. I even learned a bit about the different types of crosswords. There are like, quick crosswords, and then there are these cryptic ones, which are apparently a whole different beast. I found that it was written “a distinction may be made between cryptics and quick”. Sounds crazy!
Anyway, I’m still working on it, but it’s been a fun little adventure. I’m learning a lot about golf tournaments, which is something I never thought I’d be into. And it’s kind of cool to see how these puzzles are put together. It’s like a whole world of word nerds out there.
My Little Progress Report
So far, I’ve managed to solve a few of these crosswords completely. It feels pretty good to fill in that last square. I’m still not great at the cryptic ones, but I’m getting there. Oh, and I found out that some of them have a theme, like all the answers will relate to a specific topic. It’s pretty neat. Maybe, I will try to make my own crossword puzzle someday. It seems difficult, but maybe it will be fun. I don’t know yet.
Anyway, that’s my little update on my crossword journey. I never thought I’d get this into it, but it’s been a surprisingly good time. Plus, now I know a bit more about golf, which might come in handy someday, who knows?
