Okay, so, let’s talk about this “Shadows of the Past” thing in Wuthering Waves. I’ve been messing around with this game, and this particular side quest got me a bit stuck for a while, so I figured I’d share what I did.
First off, I started playing the new version of the game. It’s called Rinascita or something, and it’s got some new stuff to do. Anyways, I stumbled upon this “Shadows of the Past” quest in a place called Thessaleo Fells. Sounded cool, so I jumped right in.
The thing is, you’re supposed to get a message from someone named Xiaoyu to kick things off, but I didn’t get any message! I was running around like a headless chicken, not knowing what to do. Turns out, you don’t actually need that message to start the quest, which is kinda weird, but okay.
After some exploring, I found these ice cocoons scattered around. The quest wants you to destroy all of them. They’re pretty easy to spot, all glowy and icy and whatnot. So, I went around smashing them one by one. Be careful, some monsters might pop up and attack you when you get close to these cocoons.
- Find the ice cocoons. They are usually in the areas pointed out in the quest.
- Destroy the ice cocoons. Just attack them until they break.
- Deal with the monsters. Some of the cocoons might have monsters appear, so be ready to fight.
- Keep exploring. Make sure to look everywhere in the area, you don’t want to miss any cocoons.
Honestly, the biggest hurdle was figuring out that I didn’t need that initial message. Once I got past that, it was just a matter of finding and breaking all the ice cocoons. It took me a bit of time, running back and forth, making sure I didn’t miss any.
Once I destroyed the last cocoon, the quest finally completed. It wasn’t too hard in the end, just a bit confusing at the start. I guess the lesson learned here is, don’t always rely on in-game messages, sometimes you just gotta figure things out on your own.
This “Shadow of the Past” was just a small part of the game, but it was a fun little adventure. I hope this helps anyone who gets stuck on this part like I did.
