Alright, so I got this idea today, wanted to see if I could figure out what Victor Wembanyama might do in the game tonight. You know, make a little prediction just for fun.

First thing I did was just think, okay, how do you even predict something like this? It’s not like weather forecasting, right? A player can have a good night or a bad night. So, I figured the best place to start was just looking at his recent games.
I pulled up his stats from the last, maybe five or ten games. Went to one of those sports sites, you know the ones with all the box scores. I looked mainly at his points, rebounds, and blocks because, let’s be honest, that’s usually the big stuff everyone talks about with him.
Looking at the Numbers
So I jotted down some numbers:
- Points per game recently
- Rebounds he was grabbing
- Blocks – ’cause he gets a lot of those
What I noticed pretty quick was, well, it’s kinda all over the place. One night he’ll drop like 30 points, the next game maybe it’s closer to 15 but he gets a ton of blocks. It really depends.
I also thought about who they’re playing tonight. Does the opponent have a strong center? Do they play fast or slow? I tried to factor that in, just based on what I remember about the other team. Like, if they have a really good defensive big man, maybe Wemby scores less but gets more assists? Or maybe he takes more outside shots? It’s hard to say for sure.
Making the Actual Guess
After looking at all that stuff, trying to make an exact prediction felt pretty tough. It’s not like adding 2 + 2. There are so many things that can happen in a game.
Here’s what I ended up doing: I looked at his averages over the last few games, considered the opponent a little bit, and then basically just went with a gut feeling. It’s not scientific at all, really.
I thought about injuries too, like is he fully healthy? Did he play heavy minutes last game? That stuff matters. Plus, sometimes a player just feels it, you know? They get into a rhythm.

So, my process was mostly:
- Check recent stats
- Think about the matchup
- Consider any outside factors like fatigue
- Make an educated guess (heavy on the ‘guess’ part)
In the end, predicting his exact line is a long shot. But hey, it was interesting to look through the numbers and think about it. My final guess for tonight? Let’s say something like 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocks. We’ll see how close I get!
