Okay, so I finally figured out how to unlock the Namazu beast tribe quests, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey. I’ve been wanting to get in on these for a while now because, well, who doesn’t want a fluffy little Namazu mount? Plus, those crafting and gathering bonuses are pretty sweet. So, here’s how I did it.

First things first, I had to be at least level 60. I started working on my main scenario quests, and I finally got to that point after a few weeks of playing. When I finished the “Stormblood” storyline, which was pretty epic, I was ready for the next step. Then I realized I was missing a few things.
I needed to unlock the “Kugane Ohashi” quest, which is a level 70 quest. You pick this up in Kugane from a “Tired Zansai.” The coordinates are roughly X:13, Y:9. He’s not hard to miss. He had this long story that got me involved with the Namazu, but at least I was on the right track.
- Complete the Main Scenario Quest “Stormblood.”
- Pick up the level 70 quest “Kugane Ohashi” from the “Tired Zansai” in Kugane.
Then came the real “fun” part. I had to do a bunch of other quests to get to the actual Namazu quests. Specifically, I needed to complete these two blue quests with the plus signs on them:
- “Something Smells”
- “In Crimson It Began”
In Crimson It Began
I went over to The Azim Steppe and talked to “Seigetsu the Enlightened” around X:17, Y:37. He sent me on a little fetch quest, but it was pretty straightforward. After doing that, I finally got to the good stuff.
Something Smells
This quest was a bit more involved. I had to go back to the Reunion area of The Azim Steppe and find the “Flustered Attendant” at X:5, Y:23. It was a bit of a search, to be honest. This dude sent me all over the place, talking to different people and doing little tasks.
After completing “Something Smells” and “In Crimson It Began,” I finally unlocked the Namazu beast tribe quests! I went to The Doman Enclave and talked to “Gyosho” around X:17, Y:4. He’s the one who starts the daily quests. They’re pretty easy to do, and you get some nice rewards for doing them.
And that’s it! It took a bit of running around and figuring things out, but I finally unlocked the Namazu beast tribe. Now I’m grinding those daily quests, and I’m well on my way to getting that adorable Namazu mount. If you’re stuck trying to unlock these quests, hopefully, my little adventure here helps you out! Good luck!
