Alright, let’s talk about this Rashee Rice fella. He plays for them Kansas City Chiefs, you know, the football team. Heard he’s a wide receiver, which I guess means he catches the ball. They pay him a whole bunch of money to do that, too. Millions of dollars, can you believe it? More money than I ever seen in my whole life, that’s for sure.
Now, I ain’t no football expert, mind you. I watch a game here and there, mostly when the grandkids are over. But I hear tell this Rashee Rice fella is pretty good. Or at least he was, ’til he went and got himself hurt. Messed up his knee, they say. Had to have surgery and all. Poor fella. Sounds like he’s gonna miss the rest of the season. That’s a shame, all that money and he can’t even play.
But you know what? He ain’t just hurtin’ his knee. This boy’s got himself into some trouble, too. I heard on the news he’s facin’ all sorts of charges. Aggravated somethin’-or-other, they called it. Sounded serious. Eight counts, they said! Lord have mercy, I don’t even know what all that means, but it can’t be good. Makes you wonder what kind of fella he really is, huh? All that talent and money, and he goes and does somethin’ foolish.

They say he signed some kinda contract for four years. Over six million dollars, they say! Can you imagine? That’s more money than most folks see in a lifetime. He was supposed to get paid more and more each year, too. Well, I guess that might be up in the air now, what with the charges and all. Makes you think, don’t it? Money ain’t everything, that’s for sure.
I also heard tell he was born in April, on the twenty-second day. Don’t know what year, but he’s still a young fella, I reckon. Got his whole life ahead of him, or at least he did ’til he messed it all up. And get this, he’s got some silly tattoo on his leg. A CatDog, they call it. Some kinda cartoon, I guess. Kids these days and their tattoos, I swear. Don’t make no sense to me.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ he’s a bad person, mind you. We all make mistakes, that’s for sure. But it sounds like this Rashee Rice fella needs to get his act together. He’s got a lot of talent and a lot of opportunities, but he’s throwin’ it all away. Hope he figures things out before it’s too late. Maybe he needs to find himself a good woman to straighten him out. That’s what my old man always said, “A good woman can fix any man.” Course, he wasn’t always the best example himself, but that’s a story for another day.
Anyways, that’s all I know about this Rashee Rice. A football player with a hurt knee and a whole heap of trouble. Hope he gets better soon, both his knee and his life. And maybe he’ll learn a lesson or two along the way. Lord knows, we all could use a few lessons now and then.
