Hey everyone, I’m back, and today I want to talk about something I’ve been digging into lately: the Illini football depth chart for 2023. Yeah, you heard that right – football season is just around the corner, and I’ve been trying to get a handle on who’s who on the team this year.
So, first things first, I started by just googling around, you know, trying to get a general feel for the team. I saw that they represent the University of Illinois in the West Division of the Big Ten Conference. Okay, cool, that’s something I already knew.
Then, I started looking for the actual depth chart. I found a few articles talking about spring practices and who might be playing where. They were just guesses, though. It mentioned that these were just projections at the conclusion of spring practices. Makes sense, gotta start somewhere, right?
I kept digging and found something about the University of Illinois classes starting earlier this month. So, the team’s probably been practicing together for a bit, trying to get ready for the season. It’s always a hustle getting ready for the first game, I remember those days well. Also, I saw that the Illini had four former players drafted into the NFL this year. Devon Witherspoon was picked up by Seattle. That’s pretty big news!
I also found an article that discussed how Coach Bret Bielema is looking to the future. He wants to win a big bowl game and has his eye on the future. He seems like a really focused guy. I remember seeing a picture of him from a game in Champaign back in September 2022, he always looks so intense!
