My Hunt for That Vince McMahon Tweet
Alright, so the other day I got thinking about the NXT UK TakeOver shows. Remember those? Some really solid stuff happened over there. And it got me wondering about something specific I thought I recalled: Vince McMahon himself actually tweeting about one of the UK TakeOvers.
Now, that sounded a bit unusual to me. Vince usually kept his focus pretty high level, you know? So him directly shouting out the UK brand felt like something worth checking out again. Curiosity got the better of me, and I figured I’d try and dig up that specific tweet. Just wanted to see what he actually put out there, if anything.
Starting the Search
First place I went was obviously Twitter. Seemed like the logical starting point.
- I opened up the app on my phone.
- Went straight to the search function.
- Started typing in different things. Stuff like “Vince McMahon NXT UK TakeOver”.
- Then tried “Vince McMahon tweet NXT UK”.
- I even tried adding specific event names I could remember, like “TakeOver Blackpool” or “TakeOver Cardiff” with his name.
I spent a good few minutes scrolling through the results. Found tons of people talking about Vince and NXT UK. Lots of fan reactions, news bits, speculation… but finding an actual tweet from his official account? That was proving tricky. I kept looking for that @VinceMcMahon handle attached to something relevant.
Hitting a Bit of a Wall
After maybe 10 minutes on Twitter, I wasn’t getting anywhere solid. A few possibilities crossed my mind:
- Maybe the tweet got deleted? Happens all the time, especially with high-profile accounts.
- Maybe I just completely imagined it? Or maybe I heard someone else talking about it and got it mixed up.

Trying Google Search
Used similar search terms there. “Vince McMahon tweet NXT UK TakeOver support”, “Did Vince McMahon tweet about NXT UK TakeOver Cardiff”, things like that. This brought up some different results – mostly articles from wrestling news sites and forum discussions from around the time of those shows.
Some of these articles and posts mentioned Vince potentially tweeting positively or acknowledging the UK brand’s success. But finding a direct screenshot or an embedded version of the actual tweet? Nope. Still coming up empty. Saw a few links that looked promising, but they either led nowhere or just back to more discussion without the source.
Wrapping Up the Search
So, after about, let’s say 20-25 minutes of poking around on both Twitter and Google, I decided to call it quits for this particular search. The end result of this little practice run? I couldn’t actually find the specific tweet from Vince McMahon about an NXT UK TakeOver event that I thought I remembered.
It’s entirely possible it exists and I just didn’t use the right keywords or look deep enough. It’s also possible it never happened, or it got wiped. Either way, the process itself was the main thing today. Just going through the motions of trying to track down a specific piece of online info. Sometimes you find it, sometimes you don’t. That’s just how these things go. It was an interesting little exercise, though.
