Okay, so I wanted to figure out how much my old Randy Johnson baseball cards are worth. Here’s how I went about it:

Digging Through the Old Collection
First, I pulled out my old boxes of baseball cards from the attic. It was dusty up there, Man, it’s been ages since I last saw these cards!
Finding the Big Unit
I started flipping through the binders and packs, looking for any cards of “The Big Unit,” Randy Johnson. I have a decent collection, so it took a little while. I remembered collecting cards in the 90’s as a kid, and that man did I think Randy was great!
Figuring Out Which Cards I Had
I found a few different Randy Johnson cards. Some were from his time with the Mariners, others with the Diamondbacks, and even a couple from his Yankees days.I checked the front and back of each card to identify the year, brand, and any special features like inserts or parallels.
Checking Online Resources for Pricing My Randy
- I opened my laptop and went to some card pricing websites. I can’t name any specific sites here.
- I typed in the details of each card, like “1995 Topps Randy Johnson.”
- The websites showed me recent sales data and price ranges for each card.
Realizing the Value (or Lack Thereof)
Most of my Randy Johnson cards, sadly, aren’t worth a ton. It’s those rookie cards and special inserts that fetch the big bucks. I discovered that a lot of the cards from the 90s were mass-produced, so they’re pretty common. But you know. It was more about the fun.
Grading…Maybe Later
I learned that getting cards professionally graded can increase their value, especially if they’re in mint condition. I considered doing that for a couple of my better Randy Johnson cards, but I’ll probably hold off for now. It’s a bit of an investment in itself.
The Sentimental Value
Even though most of my cards aren’t going to make me rich, they still have sentimental value. Flipping through them brought back a lot of memories of collecting as a kid. That’s priceless, right? I decided to put the cards back in the binders and store them safely. Maybe I will get some of them graded in the future.
