Okay, so I was down a bit of a Markiplier rabbit hole the other day, watching some older stuff. Got me thinking, you know, about his background. Does he have siblings? You mostly just see him, this huge internet personality.
So, I did what I usually do when I get curious. Fired up my browser and just started digging around. Typed in stuff like “markiplier family” and “markiplier brother”. Simple searches, just poking around to see what popped up.
Took a few clicks, scrolled through some fan pages and wikis, the usual stuff. Then I landed on something solid. Turns out, yeah, he absolutely does have a brother. An older brother, specifically.
Digging Up the Details
His name is Thomas Fischbach. Seems like most people just call him Tom. Found out he’s actually pretty creative himself, but in a totally different field from Mark.
What field, you ask? Well, get this – he’s an artist and a writer. He’s the creator of a webcomic called “TwoKinds”. I kinda recognised the name when I saw it, but I never ever made the connection that he was Markiplier’s brother. Small world, eh?

Different Paths, Same Family
It’s pretty interesting seeing the difference. You’ve got Mark, super public figure, loud, entertaining millions. Then you have Tom, working on his art, his comic, much more low-key. Respect to him for doing his own thing.
But here’s a cool little fact I found: Tom has actually shown up in some of Mark’s videos way back when. Not like, a regular thing, but he’s been there. So, it’s not like they’re totally separate; there’s clearly that family connection there, even with the different careers.
I also picked up that their family moved around a bit, something about being a military family. Tom being born in a different place than Mark. Guess that kind of upbringing can shape things too.
