Module II: Floor Care
Floor Care Essentials is a program designed to improve facility appearance levels while standardizing tasks and techniques used in the daily and infrequent maintenance of the floors. A discussion of the importance of a well designed floor care program and some basic chemistry start the training. The program utilizes a heavy dose of hands-on application utilizing the current products and equipment in the facility. Specific topics addressed include:
- Proper tasks to be employed.
- Techniques recommended for skill development/enhancement.
- Chemical application
- Troubleshooting tips
- Standard of expected quality
Procedures will be stressed throughout the 5 disciplines which include:
- Stripping & Refinishing
- Top Scrubbing & Recoating
- Burnishing
- Daily Maintenance
A valuable approach incorporated into the training is a "goofs and consequences" segment that outlines potential mistakes, the consequences, and the remedies to correct. If the facility does not have all of the necessary equipment to conduct the training, PCS will provide it for use during the session.
